I finally have finished reading the book Secret Life of Plants, and must say I am left amazed at the scope of this book. The book is simply brilliant and reviewing 100's pnct terminal of research effort by people who were able to think outside the box. The result pnct terminal is the proof that plants are also thinking being, but not enough, considering pnct terminal the paths goes far beyond the plant world as you read this book, at least it was so for me. The book is a "must" to read, and includes very much that is of interest to us about traditional food and traditional perspective of how to run agricultural and thinks about the world we live in general. The book takes this far beyond any traditional peoples have exploited (in my knowledge) the opportunities iom book shows that it has such a breadth of attempts made by people I consider to be open and brilliant after reading the book. The book is therefore a must read book for anyone who is of interest for food, agriculture, plants, animals, humanity, the future pnct terminal and the spiritual / spiritual like this book very much shows that is something to take into consideration beyond the obvious physical.
The book purchased here http://www.adlibris.com/no/product.aspx?isbn=0060915870 book is very well written (English) and merges it all into a compelling story where the theme shifts are almost seamless. The book is thick so I spent a long time reading it in between everything, but normally it was enough to read 2-4 pages to get new ideas and thoughts as well as plenty of inspiration. I have been told that the book Secrets of the Soil by the same authors is even better, pnct terminal as this is ordered and on the way from adlibris.com very soon, and I'm excited as a kid :)
So exciting! Thanks for the book reviews. Adding these books to my list of "must read". Shall not long order a new little lass from Adlibris, so when this comes with enough I think. Sincerely, Heidi Reply Delete
You lose Hamre mistaken, since the scope of the book is only a few centimeters. And the people in the book thinking outside the box thinking, what the f ... they thought of it? People you consider to be open and genius? So as the guy who invented the lie detector pnct terminal test that prevents us from honest dishonest even småløgner? If you can not lie and cheat, what the heck can it be possible? No, from joke to organic mayonnaise with plant oil; book shows that plants are sentient, not thinking beings and are very good. But you're not from this that the observer affects the observed, as has been found so many times in quantum physical pnct terminal effort, so it is difficult to separate the observer's thoughts, feelings and expectations from the plants' reactions. I liked the way very well the plants that could identify people who had killed other plants in a study. Imagine a plant in the living room that comes with it if you are cheating on your wife or having a smoke when "no" watching? Scary! Or cactus at the bar sitting and chucks beer in sending information through mind power plants home as tipping his wife, who do you think is the synod? The book is in any case an eye-opener for those who consider plants that numb green zombies, and a threat to all vegetarians pnct terminal who do not eat animals because it is "taking life" The book is also available pnct terminal in Norwegian; The plants' Secret Life - Peter Tompkins, Christopher Bird, Gyldendal Norwegian Publishers, ISBN 82-05-0924-6 Secrets of the soil is a real eye, and if you practice only half of the tips in it gets crops and crops most people, gardeners pnct terminal and farmers included, can only dream about. Both the books and the approach they promote is in many ways a kind of emotional and mental permaculture in connection with plants and food crops. To say it with Chief Seattle - Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. If however spit upon the ground, They spit upon themelves. This we know: The earth does not belong to man; man belongs to the earth. This we know. All things are connected like the blood wooden unites one family. All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. Man did not weave the web of life: he is Merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does two himself. Willi fours Reply Delete
If Mr fours say about "Secret of the Soil" is true, I must thank and bow that I no longer need to look for a Christmas gift to my farmer-dad :) What the second book concerns I must admit I am a bit skeptical. How do plants think as long as they do not have a brain? pnct terminal On the other hand, they might well be conscious / observer. I seem to remember that the first to contradict Decartes (I think, therefore I am) meant that it was not at all given that awareness / observer was / is the same as the thinker. Thus, one can not say that they exist because they think, because pnct terminal it is not given that they themselves are the thinker, you just know that you observe your own thoughts (or something major). Thus, one can well also observe without thinking? Believe
