The Port of Santos now receives the largest ship-container port in its history. The docking of the "Cosco Vietnam" is scheduled for 11 hours. The vessel is 334 meters long; 42.8 meters mouth (maximum width); 14.5 meters draft; and can carry 8,208 TEUs (measure equivalent to a 20-foot container).
The ship has flag of Hong Kong and is touted by Navigation Alliance. Set sail from the port of Itaguai (Rio de Janeiro) at 10 am yesterday and had arrived in anchorage area of Santos scheduled for 20 hours.
At least five of the 14 cranes Santos Brazil will operate the "Cosco Vietnam". Before him, the largest ships to dock at Tecon Santos were the Maersk Light, Maersk Lima, the Maersk Leticia and the Maersk Lirquen, with nominal capacity of 7,450 TEUs.
