"Container Vacation House" is an international competition organized by Architectural Competitions for the design, on the promenade at Bondi Beach in Sydney, for a holiday ltconline home consists of modules used containers. The competition has provided three main objectives: to recognize excellence of the project on a smaller scale, able to integrate the function, structure and design details with the spirit of the houses on the waterfront; support the research of the different compositional possibilities of containers used-goods; and generate an exchange of ideas for the reuse of these modules, originally used to ship goods, and time taken to suggest a sustainable design in all its aspects.
The jury of the contest winner has appointed the architect Ales Juvarek, author of the proposal for a contemporary home, in every aspect of sustainable and sensitive to the geographic and climatic conditions of the context in which it is inserted. In fact, the site offers a panoramic view of Bondi Beach and the ocean, being located on the western hill of the headland that defines one of the most popular beaches in Sydney.
One of the priorities ltconline of the project was to keep the profile of the slope along with lawn and trees present on it: this will be three rectangular ltconline platforms were positioned transversely to the slope that does not necessitate large bulk excavation of the hill, nor the killing of the trees.
The result is called a parking area, which includes two pens and four parking spaces outdoors, in the highest part of the hill and access, in connection ltconline with the spaces of the building so the pool in the next two levels bottom.
To maintain the panoramic views and the natural element that characterizes the slope of the lawn was created a roof garden: this space not only allows you a breathtaking view of the ocean, but determines the conditions of the heat capacity of the casing, useful for both the summer cooling for maintaining the temperature in winter periods.
The functional program of the house is on two floors, with a ground floor for the living room, on open outdoor spaces and more public, and a private first floor for the night. ltconline The internal connection and movement ltconline of users is absolutely essential, ltconline with multiple areas of access, a direct ramp to merge the plans, the rooms and corridors arranged at right angles to the main axis.
The container, made according to a regular pattern, define the public and private spheres or main and support, alternating in the internal space of each floor. The construction involves the use of large windows in front and shielding horizontal wooden planks supported by thin metal uprights, plus a large pergola covers the areas of the pool with outdoor terraces that provide a cooler microclimate during the summer.
